Side Menu
Draggables
Drag any of these items from the Side Menu onto your Space to create them:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Page | A blank page for freeform writing, drawing, or notes. |
PDF Stack | A container for a collection of pages. Import a PDF onto it to open it as an editable Stack. |
Space | Creates a new nested Space within your current Space. |
Sticky Note | A quick, colorful note for short thoughts or reminders. |
Textbox | A text input area. Supports typed text and Apple's Scribble for handwriting-to-text conversion. |
Wormhole | A linkable portal that connects two points (items, pages, or Spaces) for quick navigation. |
Attachment | Add files, images, or links to your Space. See attachment options below. |
Attachment Options
creating an Attachment item reveals the following options:
Option | Action |
|---|---|
Paste | Pastes content from your clipboard, including content copied from other Apple devices via Universal Copy. |
Camera | Opens your iPad camera directly to capture and place a photo. |
Image | Opens the Photos app to select an existing image. |
File | Opens the Files app to select a document or file. |
URL | Add a web link directly to your Space. |
You can also bring content into Defter Notes by dragging and dropping files from other apps directly onto your Space. See Import & Export for more ways to bring content in.
Bottom Section
Below the draggables, the Side Menu has three additional items:
Item | Action |
|---|---|
Settings | Opens the Settings menu. |
Archive | Opens the Tray (a drop zone for files sent from other apps, and a holding area for archived items). |
Trash | Shows a thumbnail list of recently deleted items. Tap one or multiple items to select them, then choose to send them back to the Tray for recovery or delete them permanently. |
